On Friday students from Cessnock Public School participated in our annual Olympic Day at Turner Park. All students K-6 participated in a range of games and activities on the day with participation and fun being the aim of the day.
The day started with the opening ceremony, consisting of the Olympic Torch relay and a lap of the oval by each country (each class represented a country). Each country then participated in eight different games and activities throughout the remainder of the day.
Thanks to all students and families who helped to make the day a huge success.
Our school lies on the historic meeting grounds of three proud Aboriginal Nations - the Awabakal, the Darkinjung and the Wonnarua. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
