On Tuesday the 4th of June, Mr Kirton, Mr Clarke and the Student Learning Support Officers from the support unit accompanied students from two of our support classes to the University of Newcastle to participate in the Multi-Sports Day for students with a disability. The day, which is run by the School Sports Unit at the University, gives students with a range of disablilities the opportunity to attempt a variety of of modified games and sports whilst being guided by proessional coaches.
On the day our students enjoyed trying their hand at cricket, football, softball and netball. Well done to all students who participated and made it a fantastic day enjoyed by all. Mr Clarke and Mr Kirton would like to thank the University for the invitation to participate, all of the Student Learning Support Officers for their invaluable support and most of all the students from the two classes for making this a wonderful day.
Our school lies on the historic meeting grounds of three proud Aboriginal Nations - the Awabakal, the Darkinjung and the Wonnarua. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
