Last week saw the unveiling of our new 'Rainbow Cafe', a revamp of the Wendy House. The 'Rainbow Cafe' is a simulated cafe where children have the opportunity to engage in life long skills and positive interactions with other students. The cafe is designed to incorporate the school's canteen, kitchen and vegetable garden with students gaining an understanding of how food moves from 'garden to plate' as well as how to run a shop. Dining is available inside the cafe as well as al fresco on the verandah and bookings are taken during lunchtime. Inside the cafe are various artworks produced by the students and the school community.
Donations of cookboods would be greatly appreciated as our chefs have a limited range of house favourites. The cafe came about from a generous donation by Macquarie Bank, with the design and fitout completed by dedicated staff and volunteers.
Our school lies on the historic meeting grounds of three proud Aboriginal Nations - the Awabakal, the Darkinjung and the Wonnarua. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
